Lithuanian president slams Macron’s ideas on the ‘European political community | Lithuania News

Lithuania’s president slammed French President Emmanuel Macron’s proposal to create a “European political community” in the wake of Russia’s continued conflict in Ukraine on Tuesday.

While he supports the creation of political communities outside the European Union, Gitanas Nauseda believes the concept of creating a “European political community” is an effort to cover up Ukraine’s lack of political will.

He said that he was “not disappointed” by Macron’s statement on how long it would take for Ukraine to join the EU, underlining that he was aware of this.
